Mission

As an experienced mental health and behaviour specialist, and someone with lived experience of disability, my goal is to secure diverse and challenging work, where I can apply my skill set to help young people, their families and communities build capacity toward improved mental health and social outcomes.

Transferable skills and abilities

  • Multidisciplinary approach toward genuine change. Developed excellent working partnerships with local therapists and other professionals, to negotiate fair and reasonable outcomes for vulnerable persons, families and communities. Strong relationships with NSW Department of Communities and Justice (previously FACS), NSW Office of Public Guardian, NSW Trustee and Guardian, Mid North Coast Local Health District, NSW Corrective Services, Commonwealth Department of Veterans Affairs, and other government and private sector bodies.
  • Focus on positive and inclusive solutions. Focus consistently on the client, their unique goals, needs and preferences, and surrounding supports and circumstances. Developed best practice approaches to flexible service delivery, including face to face and telehealth consultations.
  • Active listening and relationship building. Adherent of the servant model of leadership philosophy, by ‘being a person first, clinician second’. In this way I listen and build rapport first, gradually supporting young people and their families to take ownership of their unique life goals. Developed leadership skills as the mental health subject matter expert in former NDIS teams, and as former coordinator of the Coffs Harbour Mental Health Professionals Network. MSCEIT Emotional Intelligence Test exceeds 80% of comparison group.
  • Duty of care, discipline and reputation. Meticulous with all aspects of case management and clinical case note writing. Proven ability to achieve KPIs efficiently, in billable and non-billable workplaces. Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and its application, including the NSW Mental Health Act 2007 and the Federal Disability Discrimination Act 1992, as well as current ethics policies and procedures. Adhere to organisational and positional codes of conduct at all times, to ensure the inclusive, safe and fair treatment of all people I work with.
  • Special interests as tools for genuine growth. Known and trusted widely as data obsessive. Highly developed analytic and presentation skills, which are frequently put to use in my counselling work. Program and self-publish free data analysis tools. In my spare time outside of work hours, run my own social enterprise focused on person-centred research and academic support. Revelian Cognitive Ability Test score exceeds 99% of graduates assessed for a variety of roles. I also love music and playing guitar, and one day would like to apply this interest clinically, as a way to engage clients with mental health concerns.
